WHO IS DR. BEVERLY R. FRIERSON?

For 32 years, Beverly has worked in the Human Service and Social Service field. Beverly holds an Associate Degree from Pitt Community College in Greenville NC. Bachelor of Science from Shaw University in Raleigh, NC, Master of Education from University of Dayton, and a PhD in Public Service Leadership from Capella University.

Beverly has served on several boards and received numerous awards and honors over the past 32 years. The last 5 awards have been from 2013-2020 from Columbus OH. Beverly has educated and presented at several major conferences and workshops locally and nationally as a keynote speaker, guest speaker and presenter on topics and issues such as HIV/AIDS, Dialysis, Dual Diagnoses (Mental Health and Addictions), and Success of Being a Social Worker, Overcoming Barriers to Success, Small Business Startup, Self-Esteem, and Women Health Care in rural areas. On March 15, 2016, Beverly’s world was shattered.

About Me

Things got so bad, Beverly felt that she was not going to survive. Beverly decided to turn things around and use her negative situation and experience to be a voice and weave hope back into her heart and other women she met.

OUR MISSION& IMPACT:

FLY SISTER CIRCLE non-profit organization and community of committed sisters that offer hands-on programs, mentoring and personal experiences that helps build confidence in young ladies and season ladies as well as men. We are also here to uplift and empower our brothers. FLYSister Circle believes in empowering women and equipping them with the skills they need, that will help these beautiful sisters realize their potential and the preempt inequities that exist for women & men in today’s world.

FACT:

Confidence levels remain low in women and men who are experiencing some type of abuse, disrespect and feeling worthless when it comes to the way society sees them.

FLY SISTER CIRCLE: Seek to change this narrative by offering counseling, programs, support, mentoring and resources to help women and men realize their potential and learn how to love and value themselves.

OUR GOAL:

As an organization designed exclusively for women, we provide a safe place and place for exploration in a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages vulnerability, stepping out of your comfort zone and most importantly, healing and recovering from past abuse of any kind.

OUR IMPACT:

FLY SISTER CIRCLE creates programs that educate, raise awareness, and help women and men build self-esteem by recognizing their value. Friendship and companionship encourage women & men to try new things and reduces feelings of loneliness, depression and hopelessness. We will offer the following Event& Programs

  • Purple & Black Gala
  • Domestic Violence
  • Mental Health & Substance Abuse(dual)
  • Healing The Enter Child
  • Celebrating Recovery from being BROKEN
  • Offer Resources and Support groups for teens and young adults as well as for men and women.
  • Support Groups
  • Monthly Walking in Unity Group

OUR SUCCESS:

We hope to see 100% improvement in confidence, self-esteem and hope all participants can use the skills, knowledge, support and resources to make the needed changes and pursue aspirations they originally felt were beyond reach. Also gain the level of confidence needed to help them learn how to (FLY) First Love Yourselves, so they can find their happiness and learn how to truly love others in a healthy way.
